Project and Exhibiting space

Located in the centre of Lewes, just off the High St, Continuum has two distinct exhibiting spaces; including a front room available to hire for shows, projects, pop ups and workshops. With an affordable rental and no commission, our aim is to create opportunities for individuals and small groups to explore experimental or less commercial projects, that enrich the creative diversity of the town.

Sarah Lawrence Re-Formed; Adventures in recycling

For more than forty years, Sarah has worked with recycled materials — devising, teaching and sharing creative processes with both children and adults. This exhibition marks a point of freedom within that long practice: an opportunity to experiment and follow ideas wherever they lead.

Central to the exhibition will be an interest in process, with preparatory sketches, rough constructions and experimental models sitting alongside finished pieces, offering an insight into how ideas evolve through making.

There will be works exploring contrasts of size and texture, as well as pieces drawing inspiration from folk tales and storytelling traditions, transforming humble materials into evocative and playful forms.

Visitors will have the chance to handle materials, try simple basketmaking-inspired techniques and create small decorative objects using basic tools
