Project and Exhibiting space
Located in the centre of Lewes, just off the High St, Continuum has two distinct exhibiting spaces; including a front room available to hire for shows, projects, pop ups and workshops. With an affordable rental and no commission, our aim is to create opportunities for individuals and small groups to explore experimental or less commercial projects, that enrich the creative diversity of the town.

Rue Asher Hidden Paths
A solo exhibition of new paintings and ceramics by Rue Asher featuring pieces from her Arts Council DYCP project.. Using colour, texture and gesture to investigate the relationship between nature, memory, emotional and material process.
I'm excited to finally share the details of Hidden Paths, myupcoming solo exhibition at Continuum Gallery in Lewes, East Sussex, as part of my Arts Council DYCP project.Rather than depicting particular places, the exhibition considers landscape in its broadest sense: both the landscapes and paths we follow and the interior landscapes we carry within us. It asks how observation, movement, and material can become ways of gathering impressions, thoughts, and sensations, and of finding moments of connection and clarity in increasingly complex lives.
Bringing together a new body of paintings and ceramics, the exhibition is connected through a shared language of construction, masking, cutting, layering, and surface intervention. My paintings emerge through instinctive mark-making, drawn lines, and repeated gestures, negotiating between chaos and order as memories and sensory experiences gradually surface. In the ceramic works, I bring a painter's sensibility to clay, drawn to its relationship with earth, mud, and landscape, and to the way the material demands patience, structure, and attention.
